King Fahd Road Digital Billboard Wins Prestigious Global Award
Alkhereiji: Our Drive for Innovation Stems from Municipal Efforts to Develop Smart Cities
The “AlArabia Digital Gateway”, a billboard owned by AlArabia Outdoor Advertising and located on the King Fahd Road Bridge in Riyadh, has won a global award for Best Traditional Digital Billboard of 2019 at the DAILY DOOH Awards ceremony held in London this week.
The billboard, designed and manufactured by the company’s own factories in collaboration with UK-based company INFiLED, was selected by the judging panel for being the largest double-sided digital billboard in the world, covering an area of 560 square meters. It features self-sustaining technology, high resolution, and weather-resistant capabilities.
This award is among the most prestigious in the digital billboard industry, carrying significant recognition among global advertising firms and major markets. It is also a key annual event for professionals in the field. This landmark victory marks the first time a Saudi company has won such an award in the Middle East.
On this occasion, Mohamed Abdulelah Alkhereiji, CEO of AlArabia Outdoor Advertising, expressed his pride, stating:
“We are honored to receive this award, which places a national company alongside the world’s leading firms. This recognition reflects our engineering and manufacturing capabilities, combined with the expertise and dedication of young Saudi talent committed to excellence and innovation in outdoor advertising.”
He further emphasized that investment in research and development remains a top priority, driven by the efforts of municipal authorities to transform cities into smart urban hubs. This aligns with one of the key objectives of the Municipal Transformation Program, spearheaded by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
